Default Stop Limiting Us!

I've gotten bored to tears with Guild Wars because at this point I've done everything that's worth doing and I've spent a lot of time doing it. Now I finally want to relax and play around. Yes, I want to play and have fun. But there's something that's stopping me from it, and here's the thing.

Why doesn't the PVP character screen just make the characters PVE? I've unlocked the skills, I want to mess around in PVE as a minion master some time or a monk for the heck of it. Why can't I do that? I've already beaten the game once, why should I have to waste many hours leveling up and creating a new character that I'll probably toss away anyway because I wanted to try something new? Isn't the game about skill not grind? I don't really see why we should be limited from having our pve character use unlocked skills... I mean do they really expect us to unlock all the skills painstakingly on one character if we want to explore the possibilities? I personally don't see anything wrong with that.

So my suggestions are the following, some are more extreme than the other, you can choose your level of how much would be good.

Suggestion 1: You can always roll a character of a campaign at level 1, but after you've obtained the protector title once, you can roll a character of that campaign at level 20 with anything you've unlocked just as you would a pvp character, and if you've obtained a 100% exploration title you will have all towns on the map.

Suggestion 2: After a character has ascended, any skills your account has unlocked are granted to that character. Then add in people to the great temple of balthazar to distribute PVP items, and PVP upgrades customized to the player. Each character is limited to only 2 main hand and 2 off hand items, but if you discard them you can get different ones.

That's basically what I'm asking. This game's just too boring to keep farming more skill points and throwing away money I've already unlocked with faction.

Some how I doubt you've done everything you can do. Do you have both friends titles at max? I'm sure if you think about it, you can find a few more things to do, or you could take some time off, go outside and enjoy the weather and come back in a few months when Nightfall is released.

I've gotten both grandmaster cartography titles and protector titles for a while now, I've been doing a lot of pvp lately and I've gotten several pvp titles so I'm glad, and I hate to PUG PVP so I like to go into PVE, but I've done everything worth doing in my oppinion, I don't feel like I should grind out 10,000 chests or gold IDs or minutes drunk, and I absolutely hate the kurzicks and luxons, why the hell would I give up stuff I can trade in for crafting materials to start another new title that I don't even like. Seriously, I already have like 4 pvp titles and you can only display 1 anyway so it's even more pointless.

I said I wanted to have FUN not to complete everything by grinding my way to all titles. TYVM.

You know, at first I thought this was a good idea...then I actually read it.

I'm sorry, but if you don't want to work for your stuff everytime you want it, you don't deserve it. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, and I suspect I'll get flamed for my opinion, as that seems to be the thing to do on forums these days, but seriously, I've played through both games 7+ times, and have not once asked for anything to be handed to me.

In short; Don't want to work for it again? Then don't.

Titles mean nothing anyway other than that you're seriously into wall hugging or play way too much, everyone managed without them before Factions came out, and the way I see it, they was only put in so that people would keep playing and pouring money back into the game economy.

I don't see how that really works out. That's like stepping back and saying I should have to work for my PVP character... And I have done the work for it, I unlocked the skill once, I don't believe you should ever have to get that skill ever again.

Just put the game away and take a break, allowing this option actually promotes grind, because you would have to do all of the things you have done in order to get the suggestion you ask for. You're just asking casual players to complain about something they will probrably never reach.

When someone says something like: "You havn't done everything. How about xxxxx?", I just can't believe how someone can think like that. Have you ever stopped and started thinking that they don't want to do something like that because it's boring, pointless, and extremely time consuming?

Thats how PVE is like, and i REALY dont think it should have the "PVP" elements bound to it...

PVE is all about long term relations whith the char you create, its not something dispendable like a PVP char, you dye the armors the way you want it, you get the weapons whith the skins you like and so on...

If this thread had a "sign" option I would definetely say:

/notsigned

Now you're speaking my language. All I want to do is have fun with a game with skills I've already unlocked. I'm just playing a game, why should I be limited from using them, that just seems unfair. I think the ideas I'm proposing are really quite simple, and they don't really affect people who want to grind.

Is there really a problem with me for playing through the game with a mesmer and doing a lot of stuff then wanting to go back and try to play a few select missions as a monk one day for fun, then maybe a different few as a minion master, then maybe a ranger or assassin the next, provided I have the skill unlocked for my account, they should hand it to me. Is that really so bad?

I think you're getting greedy. You have unlocked all the skills, so you obviously PvP a lot.

Now a long time ago, they introduced a thing that made it so that ALL unlocked skills would be available to PvE characters at all Skill Trainers (as long as the skills are from that Campaign).

Now all you have to do is make a character at Shing Jea, and buy all the skills you want. It won't even cost that much because it's a new character and it takes a while for skills to cost 1k each.

This idea seems to be based on the idea that "skills cost too much", which I don't think is true. As with most things in Guild Wars, they want us to "waste" our VIRTUAL money. What next, armor being given to you if you have 14 Rank?

I never said I unlocked all skills, and that's really where the problem is. I don't have the time and funds to have all the skills for my pve character and my pvp characters, so it's really an unnecissary limitation.

Now a long time ago, they introduced a thing that made it so that ALL unlocked skills would be available to PvE characters at all Skill Trainers (as long as the skills are from that Campaign).

I actually hated that update, simply because I'd have to go out of my way to see if I could buy a skill or not, if I did buy a skill that was already rewarded for a quest it'd be a waste.

Now all you have to do is make a character at Shing Jea, and buy all the skills you want. It won't even cost that much because it's a new character and it takes a while for skills to cost 1k each.

I kind of want to be able to do anything I want whenever on a whim. I don't want to level up a character level 20 to mess around and have fun playing a game. I already did that once.

Skills do cost to much. Are you seriously telling me I should get 15K exp every time I want a new skill? I already have all mesmer, monk, necromancer skills and every single elite on my mesmer, but honestly I'm sick of it.
My stuff is in bold in the quote above incase you overlooked it. I think floppinghog was trying to support my cause, but honestly I don't quite understand everything he's saying lol. Anyway, thank you!

That is the purpose of PvE. People enjoy the character development part of things. If you are bore, there are other means of entertainment to keep your self happy. What would you do in game with this new easy made character? Kill stuff? Farm Green? Earn gold? and to what purpose? To finance your PvE character? (aka, develop your character more) Which would just mean you are seeking an easier way to play your characters.

With a fast made lv 20 UAX character, I smell easy farming to the latest craze.

I might agree, if you said you want the new made character to be unable to take any item and gold drops. Than that would truely follow your idea of play around. Else, a PvP character would be enought for this role.

But I would almost agree... but to see it come true, would expect GW's game world and playing philophy to have massive a change (from a mock-mmo to quick-stop mini game), and not sure if it is desirble to see that.

Say you are growing an apple tree. After 3 years of care, it finally fruited. Now you want to grow a orange tree, but expect it to give you orange overnight, just because already got an apple tree.

You know even GMs have to level up their characters, farm for gold and items, and follow all the skill nerfs and buffs in the game right?

The game has limitations because its part of the contruct of how the game is playe.

There isnt a sandbox mode. This isnt Rollercoaster Tycoon. This isn't Sims.

This is an RPG.

-.-

That just made me think... we need a save option! Everyone knows that people in online games should be able to save right? I mean, I always save my BF2 online games when I get bored, then load it up some other time...

^^^lol sacrasm ftw

save function would be cool as would a "rewind" function so if you get owned you can rewind back and do it again..

ok sarcasm off...your idea will not go down well with many if any at all, there is no online game which does not include some kind of grind many infact require alot more grind the GW

this idea should never and prob never be put in place
